A single circumambulation (Parikrama/Kora) of the Mount Kailash is believed to brighten lives and wipe the sins of a lifetime. It emancipates all from the vicious and continous cycle of the births and the deaths consequently entering into the Brahma`s paradise.
"It is believed that a single circumambulation of Mt. Kailash wipes out the sins of a lifetime, 108 Parikramas guarantees enlightenment. A ritual bath in the sacred Manasarovar Lake will deliver a pilgrim to Brahma's paradise and a drop drink of its water relinquishes the sins of a hundred lifetimes."
The Journey to the Holy Mount Kailash and Sacred Lake Mansarovar is a life changing experience, that will take you through the Great Himalayas Ranges, tranquil and parched Himalayan Plateaus with swirling pathways. Upon completing the journey to this secluded, timeless and amaranthine abode one is bound to feel like a journey within oneself.
Detailed Itienrary:
Day 01: Drive from Kathmandu, Nepal to Kyirung O/N hotel (D)
We drive out early from Kathmandu. Upon arriving at Rasuwagadhi, complete immigration and customs procedures on both the Nepalese and Tibetan sides; and then continue driving to Kerung County Overnight Stay in Guest House/ Hotel.
Day 02: Drive from Kyirung to Payang via Saga O/N hotel (B/L/D)
Today we have a long distance to cover through the desert terrain, driving past sheep and yak herds and nomad camps. From the pass, we can see Gaurishankar, Shishapangma, and Langtang Himal. Khunmen Tso, Sinling, Karru Ongchen, and Peiku tso Lake all lie on the way. We also cross the river Brahmaputra on the way to saga. As we move ahead we drive through the small town of Zhongba before reaching to Paryang. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 03: Payang to Darchen via lake Manasarovar O/N hotel (B/L/D)
Today we get the first glimpse of the majestic Mount Kailash. The old Chiu Monastery is seen on the lake's northwestern shore as you get closer to this beautiful and holy lake. You may get a good look at Mount Kailash from this vantage point. It is just an exquisite feeling just to be near Lake Manasarovar, the highest freshwater lake in the world, which is encircled by Mount Kailash, Mount Gurula-Mandata, and Lake Rakchas. After spending some tranquil hours on the banks of the revered Lake Manasarovar and performing rituals, we drive 40 km to Darchen, which serves as the base for Mt. Kailashkora (circumambulation), with the snow-capped Gurla Mandhata 7694m just across the lake. The entire 53 km of the Kora may be finished in three days. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 04: Start of Mt,Kailash Kora to Drirapuk O/N hotel (B/L/D)
We will arrive in Tarboche after a short drive and visit Yama Dwar. This is Kora's starting point. We will hike 12 kilometers (five to six hours) to Dirapuk (4860 m). You will explore the north face of Mount Kailash and touch the mountain's feet (Charan Sparsh). Those who don't want to hike around Kailash (during the Parikrama) may return to Darchen and wait for the remainder of the group to arrive from Parikrama. Overnight in Hotel/ Guest House.
Day 05: Mt,Kailash Kora to Zuthulphuk O/N hotel (B/L/D)
this is the yatra's most challenging excursion as you need to trek about 8 to 9 hours from Dirapuk to Dolma La Pass (5700m) the ascend to Gaurikund from there, then continue your journey along the river to Zuthul-puk. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 06: Last day Kora and drive to Tathapuri hot spring O/N Guest house (B/L/D)
Today would be the last day of the kora. After a brief trek (8 km, 2–3 hours), we arrive at the location where the vehicles will be waiting. We will drive onward to Tathapuri Hot Springs. Overnight in Guest House.
Day 07: Drive from Tathapuri to Saga O/N hotel (B/L/D)
Today we drive onwards to Saga. Overnight in Hotel/ guest House.
Day 08: Saga to Kyirung O/N hotel (B/L/D)
Drive onward to Kyirong. Overnight in hotel/ guest house.
Day 09: Kyirong to Kathmandu (B)
Crossing the border we enter into Nepal and drive to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu our services will end.
