Bhutan is promoted as a high-end tourist destination in accordance with the principles of Gross National Happiness.

The country enchants its visitors through raw natural beauty of high and steep mountains crisscrossed by network of swift rivers, which form deep valleys. The rich and diverse culture and festivals of Bhutan are another factors that entices the tourists along with their architectural prowess that can be seen in the several Dzongs, Chorten and monasteries all together in the backdrop of a serene environment. One of the major attraction that just can’t be missed during your visit to Bhutan is the Paro Taktshang. Popularly known as the Tiger’s Nest Monastery, is a place that will leave you mesmerized.  Tiger’s Nest is a monastery perched on the top of a cliff about 900m off the ground. The monastery was constructed in 1962 around the cave where Guru Rinpoche first meditated. As the legend goes, it is believed that Guru Rinpoche was carried from Tibet to this location on the back of a Tigress and hence the name “Tiger’s Nest”. To visit the Tiger’s Nest you will need to hike just about 4-5 hours, so do make sure you have your hiking boots on.


Here’s the itinerary that includes all the highlights of Bhutan:

Day 01: Arrival at Paro- Thimphu

Distance 55 km

Estimated time: 2hrs

The most stunning destination awaits you in Bhutan the land of thunder Dragon, you will fly with Bhutan Airlines from Delhi to Paro. You will meet our representatives and drive towards Thimphu the most populated capital of Bhutan. After few hours of your journey you will reach the Chuzom confluence were Thimphu river and Paro river meets, you will drive along the Thimphu highway were an hour journey you will reach most awaited destination, beautiful capital city awaits you with warm welcome with the fresh and stunning beauty of the city.

After check in the hotel, you will visit the following:

¬The Memorial Chorten, which was constructed in 1974 as a memorial for the Third King of the country, King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk, who is widely regarded as the father of modern Bhutan.

¬Kuenselphodrang where largest Buddha statue in the country is perched on the hillock overlooking the Thimphu valley and also if interested/ if the time permits, take leisure walk through Kuenselphodrang Nature park and enjoy the rice view of entire Thimphu valley below.

¬The School of Traditional Painting of Arts and Crafts where students undertake a six year course on the 13 traditional arts and crafts of Bhutan.

¬Craft Bazaar where craftsman and artisan from across the country display and sell their handicrafts and Government-run Handicrafts Emporium and local crafts shop, to browse through examples of Bhutan’s fine traditional arts. Here you can buy hand-woven textiles, thangka paintings, masks, ceramics, slate and wood carvings, jewelry and other interesting items made from local materials.

In the evening you will stroll down the most charming city of the capital. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.

Day 02: Thimphu –Punakha

Distance 70km

Estimated time: 3hrs

After breakfast, travel to Punakha & Wangdue through Dochula Pass 3140 m. in the clear sky, you can enjoy the panoramic view of the Himalayan Mountain ranges. Then pass by the beautiful 108 chortens built on the hill by Her Majesty Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuk (queen mother of Bhutan) for the security and wellbeing of His Majesty, the King of Bhutan.

You will also visit Druk Wangyel Lakhang (monastery) which was built by Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuk (the Queen mother of Bhutan) as a tribute to His Majesty the Fourth King of Bhutan, Jigme Singye Wangchuk and armed forces after His Majesty led a successful operation against Indian militants who had occupied certain areas in Bhutan. The gallery of the Druk Wangyel Lhakhang has beautiful murals depicting some of the important events in the reigns of the kings of Bhutan.

Then travel onto Punakha. Punakha has been inextricably linked to some of the most momentous events in the Bhutanese history and deserves its reputation as one of the most beautiful and significant region sat the heart of Bhutanese culture. Punakha had served as the capital of Bhutan from 1637 till 1907. The dzong is historically important and stands as the symbol for a unified Bhutan.

Day 03: Punakha-Paro

Distance: 125 km

Estimated Time: 4 hr

After your breakfast, you will visit the Punakha Dzong old capital of Bhutan during the reign of our Third King Jigme Dorji Wangchuk, located on the island of the Pho chu (male river) and the Mochu (female river). The Dzong was built in 1637 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel to serve as the religious and administrative seat of the region. At the Dzong, you can see the highest standards in wood work. After an hour visit to the fortress you will visit the longest suspension bridge in the country which connects the other side of the Phochu River. After lunch you will have short trek to Khamsum Yulley Chorten were you will have a breathtaking view of the Punakha Valley. In the afternoon you will visit the Devine Madman’s Monastery-Chimi Lhakhang, famously known for fertility shrine, where one can receive a special fertility blessing.

After your lunch, you will travel to Paro one of the blessed place by Guru Padmasambawa charming valley awaits you with warm welcome.

Day 04: Tiger Nest Trek

After your breakfast you will travel an hour journey from your hotel till the base camp of the trek to tiger nest {Taktsang Monastery} approximately you will take around 6 hours to complete your trek. The monastery was built in 746 AD which clings on the rock over 2000 m plus above the sea level. You will enjoy the panoramic view from the monastery and you will feel like in a heaven encompass with the beauty of nature and freshness of the air. You need to climb up the hill through alpine forest welcomes with beautiful rhododendron flowers and you will feel the aroma if you visit during spring season.

Later in the afternoon you will visit National museum of Bhutan were you will experience the old antiques well preserved more than a century. Than we will visit the Fortress which was built in 1644 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyel which at present serve as an administration of Paro District. You will walk through one of the old wooden bridge of Bhutan and if you want to try with Bhutanese National dress we have shop nearby so that you can click photo with Fortress as a background.

Day 05: Airport Drop

In the morning after your breakfast your guide and Driver will drop to you in the airport for your onward journey back home.
